Getting Close To The Final Stretch!!

We are coming to the final stretch of the Chapel build! Things are really starting to come together!

All the doors are hung and most of the wood trim throughout the building is done.  The Sanctuary's wooden beams are in place and the flooring installations begin tomorrow.  Once the wood flooring is in place, the stone in the sanctuary and the fireplace in the lower level will be done!

You can really visualize the final sidewalk installations and the landscaping possibilities now.  We can't wait to start planting!  We are just waiting to see what kind of weather is coming our way.

The Bride Ready room is looking awesome!  It is almost done! We can't wait to see our Brides standing before the mirrors looking at their radiant reflections.

Meet Pat!

Our officially declared “Tool Man Dooley” and engineering mind is pleased to meet you! Pat loves spreadsheets, working with his hands, coffee, and smiles. As owner of the property with Wendie, Pat oversees all lodge and chapel operations along with the accounting side.

Meet Wendie!

Commonly referred to as our “Head Honcho”, wonderful Wendie brings her feminine touch and business mastermind to the resort! Wendie loves children, snow, wild animals (except snakes of course) and X’s & O’s. As owner of the property with Pat, Wendie oversees all lodge and chapel operations as well as wedding coordination.  Her goal is to create the wedding of your dreams!

Meet Rebecca!

To say “our Head of Housekeeping is irreplaceable” would be an understatement! Lovely Rebecca’s attention to detail and incredible work ethic helps maintain our immaculate lodges. Rebecca loves the band Bread, fishing, driving “the Bulldog”, her dogs Sassy and Jessie, and clean spaces. Rebecca is delighted to be on our team and help create incredible guest experiences.

Meet Noira Jane!

Also referred to as “Sugar Toes” and official greeter, everyone’s favorite feline is thrilled to grace the Dooley team with her presence. Noira enjoys tuna, sleeping, knocking down desk accessories, playing in fake snow, and warming herself by a laptop fan. Although she may not involve herself in petty management operations, she certainly runs the place.

Moving along fast & furious!!

WOW!!  Things are moving fast & furious at the Chapel!  We are so excited! In the last 2 weeks all the craftsmen have been hard at work.  All the sheetrock was taped, mudded and painted!  All the bead board has been hung throughout.  This week, the craftsmen are staining and hanging all the wood work and the sanctuary beams.  They are also working on the lower level's walk out porch's roof.  It is very hard to take photos right now with all the woodwork laid out on the floors.  By Friday/Saturday we should be able to post some photos of all this week's work.....wait to you see it!!
For now, we are posting photos of our progress up until Monday, 1/8/18.  We can't wait to do some Bride tours this weekend!!  We might even get some snow photos on Thursday!!

Here are some photos of the guys sheet rocking and then spraying "crumb cookie" paint onto the Sanctuary walls:

These photos show the "Fireside Room". It is in the Chapel's lower level. You can see the forest & lake through the sliding glass doors.  The beams are covered with plastic while "crumb cookie" paint is applied. The walls reflect a beautiful pink hue around sunset (when this photo was taken).

Here is a photo of the finial that will be mounted on the top of the Chapel's cupola.  The finial will be copper.  The mantle in the photos will be in the Groom's room.  The large free standing mirror will be painted white and it goes in the Bride's room.

If you get a chance, go back in the blog and view the chandeliers, dart board and groom's game table. The next time you see them, they will be in place and we will be almost ready to go!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU THAT GOT ENGAGED OVER THE HOLIDAYS!!  We are VERY excited for you!! 2018 is going to be such an awesome year for you!!
We have heard some very touching engagement stories in the last week!!  We can't wait to hear yours! Couples are planning weddings from March of 2018 to April of 2019!! Call us or email us as soon as possible so you get your special date reserved!!

The Chapel is really taking shape!!  The interior painting will be completed this week & the warm cherry wood work will begin to appear!! Reliable Heat & Air did a great job!! The Chapel is toasty warm and ready for your venue tour!  Thank you to all of the guys toughing it out in the cold building stone walls, sidewalks and finishing the siding!! You are real troopers!!

As soon as the painters take down all the protective plastic sheeting, we will post updated interior photos!!  Hopefully it will snow sometime soon and we will post some Winter Wonderland photos.  The woods are so pretty covered in snow!

We would like to count our many blessings and especially Thank our Lord for allowing us to be part of each of our couples' special day.  We are blessed to work with them and to witness their commitment to each other as they build their lives together.  What a blessing we have been given!
